PICTORIAL: Troops Rescue Abuja Journalist, 16 Others Kidnap Victims In Kogi

Troops of the 12 Brigade, Nigerian Army, person rescued an Abuja-based journalist, Segun Omole, and 16 different passengers, including 13 adults and 4 children, who were abducted by equipped criminals on the Obajana–Lokoja Road successful Kogi State.

The incidental occurred connected Wednesday, September 10, erstwhile a 17-seater autobus conveying the victims from Osun State to Abuja was intercepted by the kidnappers astatine Opamaru Village.

On arrival, soldiers recovered the autobus abandoned by the roadside and empty. Using tract craft, they tracked the kidnappers’ footprints to Wuro Village successful Adavi Local Government Area of the State, wherever they engaged the criminals.

“Overpowered by the troops’ superior firepower, the criminals abandoned each 17 kidnapped passengers and fled into the bush with assorted degrees of gunshot injuries,” Lt. Abdullahi added.

The rescued victims were evacuated to the 12 Brigade Medical Centre for archetypal assistance and stabilisation.
