Spokesman of the command, SP Josephine Adeh, said, “There has been nary specified directive from the Office of the Inspector General of Police.

She said, “The attraction of the FCT Police Command has been drawn to a mendacious assertion circulating connected societal media, alleging that unit of the Command person been directed to region pockets from their uniforms.

“This assertion is wholly baseless and should beryllium disregarded.

“The FCT Police Command remains focused connected its law mandate of safeguarding lives and property, and urges members of the nationalist to verify accusation from credible sources earlier circulating it further.

“The nationalist is advised to travel the authoritative connection channels of the Police for close updates.

“Social media users are besides encouraged to desist from spreading misinformation susceptible of misleading the nationalist and attempting to distract information agencies from their captious duties.”
