Lagos State Government has apologised to residents affected by Tuesday’s flash floods and explained that a operation of dense rainfall, tidal lock, and amerciable structures exacerbated the situation.
Several neighbourhoods, including the Lekki-Epe Expressway, Ago Palace Way, Apple Junction, Ago Bridge, and Mile 2, were submerged connected Wednesday morning, disrupting postulation and regular activities. Wahab explained that Lagos’s geography makes the metropolis prone to flooding.
“As a coastal city, Lagos is people susceptible to flooding, particularly during periods of dense rainfall combined with tidal lock.
“Despite this, the State Government has continued to put successful drainage infrastructure, regular desilting, and enforcement of biology laws to minimise flooding incidents and support lives and property,” helium said.
