FUOYE Lecturers Begin Strike Over Unpaid Salary

The Federal University Oye-Ekiti subdivision of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) connected Thursday, declared an indefinite onslaught implicit unpaid salaries.

FUOYE ASUU, successful a missive dated September 11, 2025, addressed to the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olubunmi Shittu, said the onslaught followed the nationalist directive of the Union.

According to the missive signed by the Chairman of the branch, O. A. Fagbuagun, and Financial Secretary, Ngwu Benitho, the Union stated that the onslaught would proceed until the lecturers’ salaries were paid.

“This is to notify the assemblage medication that the National Executive Council of ASUU has directed that successful immoderate case, wherever world unit wage is not paid latest by the 3rd time of each month, the affected subdivision of ASUU should proceed connected onslaught until the wage is paid.

“As a effect of the above, we are utilizing this mean to pass the medication that ASUU-FUOYE Branch has proceeded connected onslaught until our wage is paid.

“This onslaught is total, indefinite and comprehensive. The determination of the nationalist is hereby communicated.”
