An Onitsha Magistrate Court presided implicit by Her Worship, Ukamaka B. Okoye, has issued a seat warrant for the apprehension of 3 men accused of unlawfully destroying a spot valued astatine N200 cardinal aft they repeatedly failed to look earlier the court.

The accused—Ifeanyichukwu Chiekwu (45), Ostia Okoro (42), and Ugochukwu Mbaekwe (52)—are lasting proceedings for allegedly pulling down a seven-room duplex nether operation belonging to 1 Okechukwu Elowue.

When the substance came up for hearing, the prosecuting constabulary officer, ASP Hassan Ochoofu, informed the tribunal that the men had evaded work of the constabulary complaint expanse and refused to judge tribunal proceeding notices, deliberately frustrating the proceedings.

Lawyers representing the archetypal and 3rd accused persons tendered what they described arsenic “doctor’s and aesculapian reports” from recognized hospitals, claiming their clients were unfit to be court. However, Magistrate Okoye rejected the reports, ruling that the excuses were repetitive and not superior capable to forestall their appearance.

ASP Ochoofu further alleged that the accused had attempted to intimidate the complainant and were improbable to be proceedings unless compelled.

After considering the submissions, Magistrate Okoye granted the prosecution’s petition and issued a seat warrant for the apprehension of the 3 defendants. The lawsuit was adjourned to November 4, 2025 for further hearing.
