PDP Is Delusional To Call For Emefiele’s Resignation: APC » Naijaloaded

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has described the call by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the resignation of Godwin Emefiele, governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), as “delusion”.

The opposition party had called for the resignation of Emefiele over the depreciation of the naira.

Reacting in a statement on Friday, John Akpanudoedehe, national secretary of the APC caretaker committee, stated the allegations that the CBN governor did not handle the country’s economy are phantom.

Akpanudoedehe described the PDP as a failed opposition party that has lost its electoral value.

“Our attention has been drawn to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) delusional call for the resignation of Mr. Godwin Emefiele, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) over phantom allegations,” he said.

“As a failed opposition party, PDP’s current delusions are apparently a result of its leadership crisis, lost electoral value and general failure in the eyes of Nigerians.

“Nigerians are still waiting for PDP’s honest apology to Nigerians for its mindless pillage of our national resources, abuse of public institutions and the diversion of procured loans to fund its political activities and line the pockets of its cronies and family members.”

We Are Disappointed In Your Anti-Party Conducts – PDP Tells Aggrieved Members » Naijaloaded

Oyo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said it is disappointed in the action of some aggrieved members of the party.

The party made this disclosure while reacting to a vote of no confidence passed on Governor Seyi Makinde by some members of the party.

NAIJALOADED recalls that some aggrieved members of the party had on Monday said that they had passed a vote of no confidence in the governor.

But, the PDP while reacting, said that it was disappointed in what the aggrieved members did.

The party, in a statement made available to NAIJALOADED through its publicity Secretary, Engineer Akeem Olatunji, described the action of the aggrieved members as anti-party.

Olatunji, in the statement, described the aggrieved members of the party as selfish politicians.

“We want to state unequivocally that no man or woman with genuine love for his or her own household would want to destroy the family except such man or woman has started receiving gratification or personal benefits to accomplish such task.

“There is no part of the world where the political landscape is devoid of mixed feelings from time to time due to presumably unachieved expectations for whatever reason, but that is never a license to embark on a campaign of sheer political blackmail in order to recruit unsuspecting political members into a selfish, perilous and very personal scheme to bring down a God Sent Man simply because of some unfulfilled personal and political gain, to the detriment of the masses.

“Some of the members who claimed to be aggrieved are merely acting out their frustrations after their candidates in government were either redeployed due to incompetence or shown the exit door due to gross misconduct bothering on challenge of integrity.

“The fact remains that they will never tell you details of their supposed grievances against Governor Seyi Makinde other than the very parochial narrative of ‘unfulfilled promises’, and these spurious claims are merely aimed at currying undue and undeserved public sympathy.

“As the party’s congress approaches, their voices against Governor Makinde and his performing government have been raised to the rooftops not because GSM has stopped performing or breaking new grounds of success in governance, but simply because they felt their personal political expectations and gratifications were denied them in the larger interest of the good people of Oyo State.

“While we acknowledge that it is in order for politicians participating in politics and political activities to have personal aspirations and political expectations for their commitment and services to the party, it is very important to stress emphatically that such personal or political aspirations and expectations must not at any point override the ultimate interest of the party and, therefore, there should never at any point be a foreclosure to healthy political engagements and communication within the party among the stakeholders”.

SHOCKING!!! We’ll Keep Borrowing – APC Says Following Reactions To Fresh $4Bn, €710M Loans » Naijaloaded

The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, has defended the borrowing of President Muhammadu Buhari, saying that it “is for the good of the country”.

Recall that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) earlier declared that Buhari and the APC administration are selling Nigeria.

PDP National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, in a statement said the party is enraged by the “further mortgage” of the country and warned the National Assembly to protect generations unborn.

He also condemned the demand for another $4billion and €710million loans by the President.

Ologbondiyan further stated that with the “reckless borrowing”, Nigerians might eventually not have a nation after the APC leaves power.

Reacting, the party in a statement signed by the national secretary, Senator John James Akpanudoedehe, said the borrowings under the APC-led administration were transparently utilised for the purpose they were secured for.

Akpanudoedehe said borrowings made under the current administration were based on genuine needs and necessity to strengthen the foundation of the national economy.

”Borrowings by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration is for the good of the country as the money is used to develop critical infrastructure.

Unlike in the brazen looting days of the PDP, the borrowings are designed to finance the deficit in the 2021 budget to enable the realization of the Nigerian Economic Sustainability Plan.

”Nigerians should also reflect and recall that the PDP had in its 16 years of misrule pushed the country into a dark ditch of insolvency.

”However, in a welcome and commendable change, the Buhari-led administration through its economic management skills bailed out states to pay salary backlogs and embarked on large-scale infrastructure development projects that stimulated the economy and exited the era of recession caused by the PDP administration,”

The statement said.

Borrowings Are To Finance Development Projects, APC Replies PDP » Naijaloaded

The ruing All Progressives Congress party, APC, has backed Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari’s request to the National Assembly, seeking approval to borrow the sum of $4,054,476,863 billion and €710 million.

The request was made known in a letter read by Senate President Ahmad Lawan at plenary on Tuesday.

Secretary to the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), Senator John James Akpanudoedehe, in a statement sent to Information Nigerian on Wednesday, said borrowings by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government is for the good of the country as the money is used to develop critical infrastructure that is stimulating economic growth, generating jobs, reducing poverty and improving the general well-being of the citizenry.

This comes after the opposition People’s Democratic Party, PDP released a statement regarding the loan request by President Buhari, declaring that Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration are selling Nigeria.

But Akpanudoedehe, in his statement, said “unlike in the brazen looting days of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the borrowings are designed to finance the deficit in the 2021 budget to enable the realisation of the Nigerian Economic Sustainability Plan that touches key sectors such as infrastructure development, boosting healthcare services, strengthening agriculture to deepen food security, more energy generation and continued tackling of the ravaging COVID-19 global pandemic.

“From the forgone, it is abundantly clear that the borrowing is hinged on genuine needs and based on the necessity to strengthen the foundation of the national economy and achieve the desired primary purpose of government of uplifting the living standard of the citizens.

“It was in PDP’s era that loans to fund power generation, purchase arms and ammunition to fight a raging insurgency was misappropriated and diverted to fund PDP activities; and the borrowed money ultimately found its way to the pockets of cronies, friends and family members of administration officials. Nigeria is still servicing a $460 million loan taken from China to fund a phoney Abuja Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) contract awarded in August 2010.

“Nigerians should also reflect and recall that the PDP had in its 16 years of misrule pushed the country into a dark ditch of insolvency, and a period in which most state governments could not pay workers salaries, not even the minimum wage, or settle contractors’ bills and cater for patients in hospitals, to name a few.

“In a welcome and commendable change, the Buhari-led adminstration through its economic management skills bailed out states to pay salary backlogs and embarked on large-scale infrastructure development projects that stimulated the economy and exited the era of insolvency and recession caused by the ineptitude of the PDP administation.

“The APC welcomes the continued and multi-partisan cooperation which exists between the executive and legislature on national issues. This will ensure good governance, particularly in the area of economic development. The country and citizens are the ultimate beneficiaries.

Nigerians Solidly Behind PDP – Rep Member, Elumelu Alleges » Naijaloaded

The Minority Leader, House of Representatives, Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, on Thursday, said Nigerians are solidly behind the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as long as its choice for the 2023 general elections reflects their aspirations for a new beginning.

Elumelu stated this on Thursday in Abuja at the 93rd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the PDP.

He said Nigerians were now confident that the party was the only viable option to rescue the nation at this critical time.

“With my vantage position as a parliamentarian, I make regular contact with Nigerians from all walks of life.

“I am happy to report to NEC that such confidence has been reinvigorated by the way and manner in which our party has handled our challenges.

“Nevertheless, it is ‘not yet uhuru’. The charge beckons on us all, now than ever before, to be even more united in jettisoning all personal interests and assuming a more nationalistic approach in all our decisions and discourses.

“This will provide our compatriots with the much-needed platform to forcefully rally for the task ahead.

“We must bear in mind that our decisions and activities will not only affect the fate of our party but that of Nigerians in general in their quest to salvage our nation from the All Progressives Congress (APC), “

He said.

Elumelu added that Nigerians could not wait to see the PDP back to power to end killings, terrorism, banditry, economic hardship, poverty and hopelessness.

“The only assurance of security and a return to life of unity, peace, national cohesion and economic prosperity is in returning the PDP to power and Nigerians are determined to follow us to the end.

“In this regard, I charge every one of us to make sacrifices as we gear up towards the forthcoming national convention so that we will elect competent national officers who will eventually lead us to victory.

“In all, one thing is sure. If we work hard and not relent, the PDP will be reinstated to power, come May 29, 2023,”

NAN quoted him as saying.

Buhari Is Callous, He Is Coming To Mock Imo People – PDP Alleges » Naijaloaded

Imo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has faulted President Muhammadu Buhari’s planned visit to the State.

The State Publicity Secretary of PDP, Ogubundu Nwadike, said Buhari’s visit is a mockery on the people of the State.

Governor Hope Uzodinma had recently disclosed that the President would visit the state on Thursday.

Uzodinma said Buhari would commission significant projects during his official visit to the state.

However, Nwadike accused Buhari and Uzodinma of causing war in Imo State.

In a statement by Nwadike, he said:

“In recent months, Imo, once a land of peace, was forcibly turned into a theatre of war. Today, Imo knows no peace principally because the governor is on the warpath.

“Imo under Governor Hope Uzodinma is a police state. Basic freedoms of the people have been curtailed while an army of occupation reigns and rules in the land. The entire scenario leaves a bitter taste in the mouth.

“For us in PDP, the presidential visit is a deliberate ploy to mock the people of the state to their very face. This is callous and inhuman.”

“We have been meeting since 3pm, meeting for about seven hours. Very fruitful deliberation.

“You must have seen that we received leaders of our party in various other states where we don’t have a governor.

“We had a robust discussion with them on how to move the party forward, bringing all the leaders together, not only working towards a best national convention, but even beyond that, so that we can continue to sustain the goodwill that PDP is enjoying in Nigeria, and send the right signal to Nigerians that we truly prepared and working together as a family to ensure that by the grace of God, come 2023, we present a very united force that will rescue Nigeria from the misgovernance of APC.

“We also had in our meeting our candidate in Anambra governorship election, where we received briefing from him on how prepared our party is in Anambra and to confirm to you and Nigerians that all of us are united in supporting our party in Anambra.

“Also, we have discussed the forthcoming convention and you will hear from NEC tomorrow (Today) what the position is going to be.“

The National Executive Committee of the party is expected to take far-reaching decisions on the zoning arrangement for party offices today.

PDP Govs Decide Secondus’ Fate Today » Naijaloaded

Governors elected on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party will meet in Abuja on Wednesday to decide the fate of the party’s national chairman, Uche Secondus.

The meeting will, among other things, consider the report and recommendations of the Senator David Mark-led peace panel mandated to interface with critical stakeholders at the centre of the crisis bedeviling the PDP.

Secondus was recently suspended by a Rivers State High Court and a Cross River State High Court as well as his ward which ordered him to stop parading himself as the party’s chairman and member.

The peace panel was constituted sequel to Secondus’ suspension despite a Kebbi State High Court order reinstating him.

Deputy National Publicity Secretary, PDP, Diran Odeyemi told our correspondent that the governors’ meeting would possibly ex-ray the recommendations of the Sen Mark’s Peace Panel and reach resolutions that would be presented to NEC on Thursday.

“The essence of the governors’ meeting is to take a position on what is happening in the party because we have an issue now.”

“If we conduct a national convention now, does it mean that whoever emerges as the national chairman is going to wait until Secondus finishes his tenure so that there’ll be no room for anybody to go to court?”

Another source said the National Working Committee of the party was likely to forward the names of the zoning committee to the governors for consideration.

Earlier, the Director-General of the PDP Governors’ Forum, C.I.D Maduabum, in a statement, had said the governors’ meeting would discuss party matters and strategies to reposition the PDP ahead of the National Executive Committee meeting of the party slated for tomorrow.
