Buhari Has Been Caged Physically And Spiritually – Northern Group » Naijaloaded

The Northern Youths Leaders Forum has said Nigeria cannot have progress if its leader, President Muhammadu Buhari is physically and spiritually caged.

The NYLF President, Elliot Afiyo revealed this in Yola, the Adamawa State capital on Friday while speaking on the defection of a former aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He said that the group was not surprised to see Fani-Kayode’s defection from the PDP to the ruling party.

According to him, the former minister is entitled to use his only available political weapon, which is his tongue, to eat.

The group said it was confident that none of the governors who received its endorsement to contest for the presidency would ever defect to the APC.

Afiyo said,

“We want to clearly state, without mincing words, that Senator Bala Mohammed has not and will never defect to APC. He has never, at any time, discussed the issue of defection with FFK.

“The country is sinking and there is the need for patriots and everyone to come together to rescue the country against the conspiracy by a few elite, of which FFK, by his actions, is a prominent member.

“The signs are not hard to see; Buhari is caged spiritually and physically. This is because there is a conspiracy against Nigeria by some Nigerian conspirators. If not, how do you explain the defection of Femi Fani-Kayode into the APC?”

Afiyo appealed to Nigerians not to be distracted or discouraged, adding it is apparent that the President and his party have failed Nigerians.

“We should not be distracted, discouraged or in despair because of people that are identifying with conspirators because of a pot of porridge. We will surely sing hallelujah in 2023 by His grace,” Afiyo stated.

Buhari Has Changed Says Femi Fani-Kayode After His Defection To APC » Naijaloaded

Former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has given reasons he defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

Speaking on Channels Television programme, ‘Politics’, Femi emphatically said he joined APC to achieve unity, peace and togetherness in Nigeria.

When asked to comment on the statement he made in 2015 against President Muhammadu Buhari, the outspoken Femi opined that: “There is a time to condemn and criticise people. There is also a time to come together, work together to achieve unity”.

Recall that Femi had in 2015 condemned politicians that joined the ruling party, saying that he would rather die than join APC.

His words:

“I am not surprised that @MObanikoro and @iyiomisore have got their passports back from the EFCC and are now in America.I do not blame them for joining the ruling party to avoid persecution. Some are strong whilst others are weak. I would rather die than join APC or bow to Buhari.

“We must stay strong and focused and refuse to be distracted. We must enthrone justice, air play and equal opportunities for every Nigerian regardless of his faith, ethnic nationality or circumstances of birth. Ours is to speak for the weak, the poor, the voiceless and the oppressed.”

However, holding on the above statement, Seun Okinbaloye, Channels presenter asked Femi to give explicit reasons he defected, Femi answered: “Joining APC now is the away forward, despite what people may think about it.

“APC is a liberal party. Allot has happened in APC over the years. The party has changed and President has accommodated the change. Had the APC leadership not changed I wouldn’t have joined them.

“I am doing the right thing base on conviction and understanding. This is the right decision for me, love me or hate me, it will not take anything away from me.

Speaking on his verbal attacks on Buhari, Femi said he spoke against him from the outside, noting that he now know who Buhari is from the inside.

His words:

“I spoke against Buhari from the outside, now I know him from the inside. I am not saying he is an angel or a demon. The APC I was taking about that time is not same today. Let’s focus on unity, peace and togetherness,” he said.

How To End Banditry, Herdsmen’s Crimes

Popular Islamic scholar, Ahmad Gumi has disclosed how the Nigerian government can stop banditry and the crimes among herders.

Gumi said crimes among herders can be stopped through education.

In a Facebook post, the controversial Islamic scholar said the building of schools and encouraging children of herdsmen to attend them would prevent banditry.

Gumi recalled how he encouraged some herdsmen in the Janjala forest of Kagarko to take up education and renounce banditry.

According to Gumi:

“It’s Education! In the package it means building schools for them and their children to rehabilitate them and prevent their children from joining the banditry as a way of life; it is called mopping out the pool from which criminals get their foot soldiers.

“Seven months ago, in early February, I was in Janjala forest of Kagarko to visit Herdsmen to encourage them to resist and fight back against the bad eggs among them and also put the foundation stone of a school/center for them.”

Gumi said the herdsmen accepted his offer and a school was erected where their children received lessons.

The cleric said no fewer than 600 students were enrolled for classes.

He added:

“Today, with the roofing in place, they have moved into the school even without plaster, electrical fittings, ceilings, tiles, and painting to continue their lessons.

“So far, about 600 students were enrolled out of which 150 are married women.

“This is how a society is transformed and redirected.

“They have now tested the sweetness of knowledge and have seen the value of education. They cannot be recruited any more to commit crimes as they are looking forward to a brighter future of respect and dignity.”

Gumi noted that by erecting such education centres across forests in the states, soon the “bad eggs” will have no ‘justification’ for committing crimes.

“This is a practical example for people to emulate and governments to listen to,”

He said.

Some Northern states have been under the attacks of bandits with several schools and religious centres been the target.

States like Zamfara, Niger, Kaduna, Sokoto, Kebbi, and Katsina states have been affected by the activities of banditry.

Amid their activities, Gumi had severally visited bandits in their camps with the aim of urging them to lay down their arms.

Following his visit, Gumi had urged the Federal Government to grant bandits amnesty.

Recently, the Islamic cleric had appealed to the Federal Government to establish a Ministry of Nomadic Affairs.

Gumi said the ministry would address the challenges surrounding herders.

He had pointed out that bandits in the North are going nowhere.

FG Borrowing To Uplift Living Standards Of Nigerians

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed that the loans obtained by the President Muhammadu Buhari administration are borne of the desire to uplift the living standard of Nigerians.

Recall that on Tuesday, Buhari sought the approval of the national assembly to borrow fresh sums of $4,054,476,863 and €710 million, in an addendum to the 2018-2020 borrowing plan.

Reacting to the development in a statement on Wednesday, John Akpanudoedehe, APC caretaker committee national secretary, stated that the loans are meant to develop critical sectors of the economy in a bid to reduce poverty.

Akpanudoedehe stated that the loans are designed to finance the deficit in the 2021 budget, which, according to him, will enable the realisation of the country’s economic sustainability plan.

“Unlike in the brazen looting days of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the borrowings are designed to finance the deficit in the 2021 budget to enable the realisation of the Nigerian Economic Sustainability Plan, that touches key sectors such as infrastructure development, boosting healthcare services, strengthening agriculture to deepen food security, more energy generation and continued tackling of the ravaging COVID-19 global pandemic,” the statement reads.

“From the foregoing, it is abundantly clear that the borrowing is hinged on genuine needs and based on the necessity to strengthen the foundation of the national economy and achieve the desired primary purpose of the government of uplifting the living standard of the citizens.

“It was in PDP’s era that loans to fund power generation, purchase arms and ammunition to fight a raging insurgency was misappropriated and diverted to fund PDP activities; and the borrowed money ultimately found its way to the pockets of cronies, friends and family members of administration officials.

“Nigeria is still servicing a $460 million loan taken from China to fund a phoney Abuja Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) contract awarded in August 2010.”

1.6m Households Receiving N5,000 From My Govt Monthly

President Muhammadu Buhari has revealed that 8 million individuals are currently benefiting under the conditional cash transfer programme (CCT).

The president also stated that 1.6 million households are currently receiving a “bi-monthly stipend of N10,000″ from his government.

Buhari stated this at the opening ceremony of the 14th annual banking and finance conference of Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), on Tuesday.

Speaking virtually, Buhari stated that the national social register had 32.6 million persons from 7 million poor and vulnerable households identified and therefore implored bankers to play a role in improving livelihoods.

“From this number, 1.6 million poor and vulnerable households, comprising more than 8 million individuals, are currently benefiting from the Conditional Cash Transfer program, which pays a bi-monthly stipend of N10,000 per household,’’ he said.

Buhari, APC Selling Nigeria – PDP Condemns Fresh $4b, €710m Loans » Naijaloaded

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has declared that President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration are selling Nigeria.

The party is enraged by the “further mortgage” of the country and warned the National Assembly to protect generations unborn.

The PDP condemned the demand for another $4billion and €710million loans by the President.

A statement by Kola Ologbondiyan, National Publicity Secretary said with the “reckless borrowing”, Nigerians might eventually not have a nation after the APC leaves power.

The spokesman lamented that the Buhari administration already accumulated N33.107trillion debt with nothing to show but decayed infrastructure and a depressed economy.

He said with the fresh request to take a N2.66trillion loan and an additional N5.62trillion loan proposed for the 2022 budget, the government will put Nigeria in N40trillion debt with no clear-cut repayment plan.

The PDP insisted that the debts hanging on the people “are for nebulous projects whose scopes, utilities, locations and contractors are largely vague”.

The party lambasted the government for excessive borrowing “instead of seeking ways to reduce the liability they have brought upon our nation”.

Ologbondiyan said the APC knows it will not be around after May 29, 2023, and decided to push Nigeria into a “deeper economic quagmire with foreign loans largely diverted to personal pockets of their corrupt leaders”.

“They have resorted to the pillaging of national vault and suppression of productive sectors, a development that has crippled our Gross Domestic Product (GDP) to the extent that our naira, which the PDP handed over to the APC at N167 to a dollar, has collapsed to an all-time low of N557 ”

The PDP charged the National Assembly to save the nation by rising above partisan sentiments to reject the latest loan request by President Buhari.
